The prosecutor requested six years in a penal colony for blogger Huseyn Gasanov

In Russia, the state prosecutor has requested a six-year prison sentence for blogger of Azerbaijani origin Huseyn Hasanov, who is accused of laundering 170 million rubles.

This was reported by his lawyer Mikhail Yusupov.

"The prosecutor is requesting six years in a penal colony for blogger Huseyn Hasanov in an in-absentia case of money laundering," writes REN TV, citing Yusupov's words.

According to the investigation, the blogger attempted to deceive the tax authorities by selling his apartment in Moscow to an acquaintance who was a realtor for 68 million rubles. He carried out the transaction to prevent the property from being confiscated. Subsequently, a criminal case was opened against Hasanov.

In February of this year, the prosecutor's office approved the indictment, and the case materials were submitted to the court. The suspect himself is hiding from the investigation abroad. He was arrested in absentia. Hasanov does not admit guilt in the crime. In April, new details of the deal emerged. According to Mash, Hasanov sold the apartment for a pack of cookies in order to hide the property from the tax authorities.
