The only survivor of the plane crash in India tells about his rescue

Vishwash Kumar, a 40-year-old British citizen of Indian origin, became the only survivor of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner crash in India. In an exclusive interview with DD News channel, he admitted that he cannot explain himself how he remained alive in the disaster that claimed the lives of 241 people.
"I was returning to London after visiting family and was sitting by the window near the emergency exit," Kumar said. His survival in India is already being called a real miracle - out of 242 passengers and crew members on board, only he managed to survive.
The man described in detail the last minutes of the flight: "Immediately after takeoff, the plane began to behave strangely, and after a few seconds it crashed into a building." After the collision, a fire broke out on board, resulting in serious burns to Kumar's left arm.
"At first I thought I wouldn't be able to escape either - people were screaming around me," recalls the survivor. "But when I opened my eyes, I realized I was alive, and tried to unbuckle from the seat and get out of there where I could," he added.
Witnesses to the tragedy captured on video how Kumar, limping, independently makes his way to the ambulance. Initially, he was taken for one of the victims on the ground, and only later it was discovered that he was a passenger on the crashed airliner. Kumar is currently in the hospital under medical supervision.
The plane was operating a flight from Ahmedabad to London. According to police, there were 242 people on board. Emergency response teams, including fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the crash site, reports News18 channel.
Former senior pilot, Captain Sorabh Bhatnagar, in a comment to the press suggested that the cause of the crash could have been multiple bird strikes in the engines, causing both engines to lose power.
