The number of people infected with chikungunya fever in China has exceeded 3,000

The number of people infected with chikungunya fever in southern China has grown to more than 3,000.
As reported by Oxu.Az, this was announced by the local media Stdaily.
The first case of this fever in China was detected on July 8 in the city of Foshan in Guangdong province. As of July 22, the number of confirmed cases exceeded 3,000 people.
"The Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention stated that currently in Beijing there are occasional imported cases from abroad, and with the increasing frequency of international exchanges, the risk of imported cases continues to exist," the publication said.
The disease is transmitted through mosquito bites. The chief scientific officer and deputy director of the Department of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the province, He Jianfeng, noted that the type of mosquito that has mainly become a carrier breeds in stagnant water, and therefore for safety it is better not to approach stagnant water, as well as to use mosquito nets and wear long-sleeved clothing outdoors.
"If a person has a high fever, severe joint pain or a rash, especially if they have a history of mosquito bites or have traveled to epidemic areas, they should seek medical attention immediately," emphasized researcher Duan Leilei from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
