The moment of helicopter and plane collision in the USA was caught on camera

Surveillance cameras captured the dramatic moment of a Bombardier CRJ700 passenger aircraft crash in Washington's airspace.

The shocking footage shows the airliner, while performing a standard landing approach maneuver, unexpectedly colliding with a Black Hawk military helicopter. The collision was followed by a powerful explosion. According to witnesses, the aircraft split into two parts.

There were 64 people aboard the passenger plane, including 60 passengers and four crew members. The Black Hawk helicopter was carrying three military personnel. Official information about the number of casualties has not yet been received.

According to preliminary data, among the passengers was a group of Russian figure skater emigrants and their coaches. The athletes were returning from competitions held parallel to the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Kansas.
