The IRGC announced the beginning of a large-scale operation in response to the assassination of Khamenei

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced "the most powerful offensive operation" in response to the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Tasnim, this was stated in a declaration by the elite unit of the Iranian army.

"The hand of retribution of the Iranian people will not release the killers of Khamenei, they will face severe punishment," the statement reads.

The IRGC characterized the assassination of the Supreme Leader as a clear violation of religious, moral, legal, and international norms.

The Iranian government also stated in its declaration regarding the death of Khamenei that "the criminals will not go unpunished."

"With the support of the Islamic ummah and freedom-loving people of the world, we will make the perpetrators and masterminds of this great crime regret their actions," the government statement noted.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran (IRNA) confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei.
