The cover of the Kaaba has been replaced with a new one

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) and the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi) in Saudi Arabia reported that the replacement of the Kaaba's covering was carried out on the evening of June 25 by a team of 154 specialists.
The replacement process, which used 47 new elements with a total weight of 1415 kg, took several hours.
About 825 kg of pure silk, 180 kg of silver and gold were used to make the new covering.
The old covering, replaced with a new one, is washed with water from the "Zamzam" spring, after which it is sent to Islamic countries for exhibition in museums.
Verses from the Holy Quran are embroidered on the Kaaba's covering using silver and gold.
Produced on the world's largest sewing machine
The Kaaba's covering is manufactured at the King Abdulaziz Complex for Kiswah Production, located in Mecca.
About 200 craftsmen and administrative staff work on the complex's territory.
The world's largest computerized sewing machine, 16 meters long, is also installed there.
Previously, Saudi Arabia traditionally changed the Kaaba's covering on the 9th day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, on the Day of Arafah.
However, in 2022, this tradition was changed: now the Kiswah is renewed on the first day of the month of Muharram - at the beginning of the new year according to the Islamic lunar calendar.
