The Chief of the General Staff of the IDF ordered to prepare for strikes on targets in Syria
IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has ordered preparations for strikes on targets in Syria if violence against Druze by the ruling regime forces does not stop.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to newsru.co.il, this was announced by the IDF press service.
"During the day, the Israel Defense Forces used aviation to strike attackers targeting Druze civilians on the outskirts of Damascus. The Israel Defense Forces is monitoring developments in the Syrian region, its forces are on alert for defense and various scenarios," the statement said.
Earlier, the office of the Israeli Prime Minister reported that in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, the Israel Defense Forces conducted a preemptive operation and attacked an extremist group that was preparing to continue attacks on the Druze population in the city of Askhania in Damascus province in Syria.
