The cause of death of "Home Alone" star Catherine O'Hara has been revealed
The cause of death of actress Catherine O'Hara, who played the mother of Macaulay Culkin's character in the film "Home Alone," was pulmonary embolism.
This was reported by the Associated Press agency citing the death certificate.
According to the document issued in Los Angeles County, pulmonary embolism was the immediate cause of death of the 71-year-old actress. Rectal cancer is listed as the underlying condition in the certificate. The document also states that the actress was cremated.
It is noted that the oncologist who signed the document had been treating the actress since March of last year and last saw her on January 27. Catherine O'Hara died on January 30 at a hospital in Santa Monica, California.
The actress's death came as a surprise to the general public - O'Hara's representatives initially only reported that she had passed away after a brief illness.
