The best restaurant in the world is named

Rating of 1,000 restaurants in various parts of the world has been published.

As reported by BAKU.WS, according to the international gastronomic classification La Liste, the title of the best establishment went to the Parisian restaurant La Monnaie de Paris ("Monnaie de Paris"), located on the left bank of the Seine, for the 9th time. It is noteworthy that this establishment of master Guy Savoy managed to remain at the top of the list, despite losing its third star in the famous gastronomic guide Guide Michelin ("Michelin") in 2023.

"I am somewhat disappointed with the results of other restaurants," admitted Philippe Faure, president-founder of La Liste and former French ambassador to Japan and Mexico, in an interview with Agence France-Presse. He compared the world of gastronomy to tennis, "where leaders maintain their positions year after year."

Overall, in terms of representation among the 1,000 establishments worldwide, French chefs ceded the palm of victory to the Japanese. The French, however, led in the top hundred.

The prestigious La Liste ranking was founded in 2015. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, its experts analyzed trends in the world of gastronomy. The conclusions were disappointing: over the past decade, 16% of restaurants previously included in the Guide Michelin have closed.

"Haute cuisine is today at a crossroads between luxury and bankruptcy," Faure noted. Preference is often given to how a dish looks in social media pictures, rather than its taste qualities. In response to this trend, another wave has emerged - a return to regional and local cuisine.
