The arrest of the son of the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg has been extended

The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg extended the preventive measure in the form of detention for Mutvale Shikhlinskiy, son of the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, as reported by TASS from the united press service of the regional courts.
"The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg granted the investigator's request to extend the preventive measure in the form of detention for Shikhlinskiy Mutvale Shakhin ogly. The preliminary investigation authorities have charged him with committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The preventive measure has been extended until December 14, 2025," the statement says.
Mutvale Shikhlinskiy was arrested on charges of "using violence against a law enforcement officer," whom he allegedly "knocked down" on July 1.
The arrested head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Sverdlovsk region, Shakhin Shikhlinskiy, has been placed in a solitary cell at Yekaterinburg's pre-trial detention center No. 1. News of Shikhlinskiy's detention became known on August 2. According to unofficial information, this happened in Moscow. A Moscow court arrested Shikhlinskiy in absentia. Preliminarily, he is accused of "attempted murder and use of violence against a special forces officer." He denies guilt.
