Syrian doctor who tortured people sentenced to life imprisonment by German court

Syrian doctor who worked as an orthopedic surgeon in Germany sentenced to life imprisonment. He committed severe crimes for the Assad regime, torturing and killing people.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Ewronews.ru, life imprisonment is the sentence handed down by the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main to a former Syrian doctor. He tortured people while being an accomplice of the Assad regime, and then practiced as an orthopedic surgeon in northern Hesse for several years.

The forty-year-old criminal was charged with murder, torture, and crimes against humanity. The judges consider all charges proven, and Alaa M. must serve a life sentence. In addition, a special degree of guilt was established - after the end of his prison term, the criminal will remain in preventive detention.

Alaa M. denied all accusations until the end. However, the judges consider it undeniable that the doctor tortured and killed people at several facilities in Syria for more than two years. He is accused of committing the most serious crimes on behalf of the Assad regime in 2011 and 2012.
