A submarine attacked the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena off the coast of Sri Lanka, with at least 78 people injured. As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Reuters and OutlookIndia.

According to one official, 32 people were hospitalized after being rescued from the sinking Iranian warship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

A senior Ministry of Health official, Anil Jasinghe, stated that one of the injured is in critical condition, seven are receiving emergency treatment, and the rest sustained minor injuries.

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath informed parliament that the country's naval forces had been notified that the IRIS Dena, with 180 people on board, was in distress. The state dispatched ships and aircraft to conduct rescue operations.

Earlier, an Israeli F-35I "Adir" fighter jet shot down a Yak-130 fighter belonging to the Iranian Air Force over Tehran. According to the IDF, this is the first case in history of a manned fighter jet being shot down by an F-35I aircraft.
