Strong earthquake in Turkey - people jumped out of windows in fear, many injured

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported the tragic consequences of an earthquake that occurred on the southwestern coast of the country. According to official data, the disaster led to the death of one person, and 69 others were injured.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs shared information about the incident on his account on the social network X.
"As a result of the earthquake, a 14-year-old child died due to a panic attack," Yerlikaya noted in his message.
According to the minister's statement, dozens of people were injured as a result of the ensuing panic and attempts to escape. 69 people received various injuries, mainly due to jumping from heights. 46 victims were urgently taken to medical facilities.
Ali Yerlikaya especially emphasized that, despite the panic among the population, no infrastructure damage was recorded in the city.
