Scientists have warned the world about the threat of a mega-earthquake due to a fault in the USA

An internal fault has been discovered in the Juan de Fuca tectonic plate, located off the northwest Pacific coast, which has caused serious concern in the scientific community. This is reported by the authoritative publication The New York Times.
"Among the tectonic threats to the planet, the threat of a mega-earthquake along the San Andreas fault in California is impressive, however, the geological fault in the Cascadia subduction zone causes even more concern among specialists," the article notes.
As the publication explains, the Juan de Fuca plate runs along the coast of several American states, including Washington and Oregon, and is in a compressed state between the Pacific and North American plates. According to researchers cited by the newspaper, the pressure of these plates on Juan de Fuca creates enormous internal stress, which causes the plate to rupture at its weakest points.
