Russian-Ukrainian Conflict: Results of Four Years of Confrontation

The Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which began four years ago, has ceased to be regional and has transformed into a global confrontation that has shaken Europe's security system and changed the geopolitical map of the world.

In February 2022, Moscow planned a short and rapid offensive, which it called a "special military operation," however this plan did not work. To date, the front line has stretched for thousands of kilometers.

As for losses, both sides - Russia and Ukraine - are trying to conceal them. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his recent statement reported that 55,000 Ukrainians were killed during the war, although analysts estimate this figure at 100-140 thousand. The number of civilian deaths exceeds 15,000. The Russian side does not publish official casualty data, however Western experts believe they range from 288,000 to 409,000 people.

Thus, both sides are suffering heavy losses but are not gaining a decisive advantage.
