President Vladimir Putin received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in the Kremlin.
Fidan is in Russia on a working visit from May 25 to 27 at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
It is expected that the ministers will hold talks on May 27 and exchange views on the development of the situation after the negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul.
The ministers will also discuss possible further timeframes for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
