Putin agreed to military operations in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow agrees to a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, but it must lead to long-term peace and elimination of the root causes of the conflict.
"We agree with the proposals to cease hostilities, but we proceed from the fact that this should lead to sustainable peace and elimination of the causes of the crisis," he noted at a press conference following talks with the President of Belarus.
Putin supported the idea of a ceasefire, but emphasized that there are issues that require discussion. In particular, he expressed doubts about how the situation would look on the 2,000-kilometer-long line of combat contact, where the Russian army continues to advance.
