Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump and congratulated him on his 80th birthday.

As reported by RBC, this was announced at a briefing by the aide to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov.

According to the information, the negotiations lasted 55 minutes.

According to Ushakov, Putin also expressed his best wishes to the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump and praised her role in reuniting Russian and Ukrainian children with their families.

It is specified that during the phone conversation, the leaders discussed, among other things, bilateral relations and the international situation. In particular, Trump promised Putin to exert influence on Ukraine and the United States' European partners, and also advocated for a cessation of hostilities in the zone of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Ushakov said.
