Powerful earthquake in Tajikistan: tremors felt in neighboring countries
A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 was recorded in Tajikistan, according to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The tremors occurred at 9:23 local time (7:23 Moscow time), as reported by the Asia Plus news agency. At the moment, no information about destruction or casualties has been received.
Specialists from the Republican Seismic Forecasting Center under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan estimated the intensity of the earthquake in neighboring Tajikistan at 7 points. According to the center, residents of Uzbekistan also felt tremors with a magnitude of 2-3 points.
