Pezeshkian named the condition for a meeting with Trump

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian believes that one of the conditions for holding a meeting between him and American leader Donald Trump should be a demonstration by the United States that it has no intentions of seeking regime change in the Islamic republic through force.

He stated this in an interview with CBS.

"First, the distrust caused by this war must be overcome. We must act in accordance with what we have signed. The US must demonstrate that they do not intend to overthrow either our government or our administration," Pezeshkian said, responding to a question about the possibility of meeting with Trump. The American leader had earlier allowed for the possibility of such contacts on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, but no such meetings were reported.

"Put yourself in our place. Imagine that someone came and killed your supreme leader. And then did not fulfill everything that had been agreed upon. What would your reaction be? This is not something that can be resolved so easily," the president of the Islamic republic added.
