Pashinyan signed a roadmap with bishops for the improvement of the Armenian church
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a so-called roadmap for the improvement of the Armenian Apostolic Church with 10 bishops, reports BAKU.WS citing Sputnik Armenia.
Earlier, on December 8, Pashinyan presented his plan for renewing the Armenian Apostolic Church, calling it a "roadmap." This map, according to Pashinyan, should be implemented after the departure of Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II. The government is also ready to assist in developing the church's charter.
The document contains the following points:
- public announcement of the reform program;
- removal of the current head of the church;
- election of a locum tenens for the patriarchal throne;
- adoption of the church charter;
- election of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
