Pakistan announces retaliatory military operation against India: what is known at the moment

On May 10, Islamabad officially confirmed the start of a large-scale military operation against India in response to recent strikes on Pakistani territory. According to the government statement, the operation was named "Bunyan ul-Marsus", which translated from Arabic means "Wall covered with lead".
In a message published on the official account of the Pakistani government on social network X (formerly Twitter), it states:
"Pakistan has responded to India's aggression with dignity and effectiveness. As part of the operation "Bunyan ul-Marsus", key military facilities of the enemy have already been hit. We are defending our land, people and sovereignty".
Earlier, Pakistani TV channel Geo TV reported that one of the first targets of the operation was a warehouse with BrahMos missiles - one of the strategic objects of Indian defense.
📍Context of tension
Relations between India and Pakistan have remained tense for decades, especially against the backdrop of disputes over Kashmir. Any military escalation between the two nuclear powers raises concerns in the international community.
According to preliminary data, in response to India's strikes on Pakistani border areas, Islamabad activated military units and carried out retaliatory strikes on strategic facilities on Indian territory.
📢 Public reaction
Pakistani media emphasize the "country's determination to protect its interests". The Indian side has not yet officially commented on Islamabad's new statements, however, as analysts note, further escalation could lead to unpredictable consequences.
