Mortality in Ukraine Exceeds Birth Rate by Three Times
Mortality in Ukraine is three times higher than the birth rate.
As BAKU,WS reports with reference to the "Novosti.LIVE" TV channel, this was stated by the former Prime Minister of the country Anatoly Kinakh.
According to him, during the first six months of 2025, about 100,000 newborns and approximately 249,000 deaths were registered in Ukraine.
"The ratio of mortality to birth rate is approaching three to one," he emphasized on the TV channel.
Kinakh also added that the number of people with disabilities in Ukraine has increased significantly over the past three years: from 2.7 million in 2022 to 3.4 million people. He linked this to the consequences of the conflict and the deterioration of the overall situation in the country.
According to UN estimates, approximately 6.8 million residents have left Ukraine since February 2022. The organization notes that some regions of the country have become almost empty, as most young people have left, and mainly elderly citizens remain in place.
