Millions of people will gather at Ali Khamenei's funeral: Iran prepares for a massive farewell ceremony

Millions of people are expected to attend the funeral of the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, which will begin on July 4.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the ceremony will be held in Tehran, where security measures will be organized at the highest level.

According to government officials, venues with a capacity of over one million people have been prepared to receive guests, and large-scale logistical and medical infrastructure has been deployed in the city.

Meanwhile, it remains unknown whether Khamenei's son, Mojtaba Khamenei, will participate in the ceremony, as well as who exactly will lead the funeral prayer. Officials stated that decisions on these matters will be announced later.

According to the plan released by the Iranian government, the farewell ceremony will first take place in Tehran and then in the city of Qom. After that, the body will be transported to the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala, and the final burial will take place at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad.

Officials reported that heads of state and government delegations from dozens of countries, as well as hundreds of foreign journalists, are expected to attend the ceremony. Analysts believe that this event holds enormous significance not only in a religious but also in a political context - in terms of Iran's future course.
