Millions of Bible copies were bought up in one country
In 2025, around 6.3 million copies of the Bible were sold in Great Britain, which became a record figure in the entire history of observations. The SPCK Group publishing house reported this unprecedented growth in sales.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to The Guardian, SPCK Group Executive Director Sam Richardson noted that society's attitude toward religion is noticeably changing. According to him, if previously atheism was perceived as a form of rebellion, today the situation has changed, and it is Christianity that attracts greater interest among young people.
Richardson believes that the growing interest in religion is connected with large-scale political and social changes in the world, as well as with the development of artificial intelligence, which makes young people think more often about the meaning of life and spiritual values.
According to the publication, Bible sales increased by 134 percent compared to 2019. In addition, the number of young parishioners has significantly increased: while in 2018 they made up about 4 percent of the total number of church attendees, by 2024 this figure had grown to 16 percent.
