Mikhail Saakashvili received a new sentence
The Tbilisi City Court sentenced former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili to four and a half years in prison for illegal border crossing in 2021.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Georgian TV channel "TV Pirveli".
The sentence was read by Judge Mikhail Jinjolia. The announcement of the verdict caused a stir in the courtroom. Court bailiffs were forced to remove supporters of the ex-president from the hall. Saakashvili himself did not participate in the hearing.
Earlier, the Tbilisi City Court sentenced former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to 9 years in prison on charges of embezzling more than 3.2 million dollars.
