Media: Trump may resume strikes on Iran this week

The head of the American administration, Donald Trump, may order the resumption of military operations against Iran this week.

This was reported by the Axios portal, citing sources in the American and Israeli leadership.

According to the portal, on May 3, the United States privately notified Iran of the launch of Operation Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz, aimed at ensuring the safe passage of vessels through the strait, allegedly with the goal of "reducing the risk of possible escalation." At the same time, Axios drew attention to the words of Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, who had previously stated that the ceasefire with Iran remains in place despite the American military operation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite this, some American and Israeli officials believe that Trump, if the deadlock in negotiations persists, may later this week give the order to resume the war, the portal reports.
