Media: Putin made an important proposal regarding Ukraine

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin proposed a complete ceasefire along the entire front line with the aim of reaching a peace agreement with Ukraine.
This is reported by the publication Financial Times with reference to its own sources.
According to the publication, Vladimir Putin, during a meeting in St. Petersburg with the special representative of the President of the United States of America for Middle East issues, Steve Whitcoff, stated that the Russian Federation is ready to abandon its claims to four Ukrainian regions.
After this, allegedly, the United States of America proposed a peace settlement option that provides for the recognition of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation, as well as the de facto control of the Russian Federation over parts of four Ukrainian regions.
The publication claims that this could be the first sign that Vladimir Putin is ready to abandon some of his previous demands for the sake of ending the war. However, European officials familiar with US diplomatic efforts to end the armed conflict warn that Donald Trump, if he comes to power, may agree to other conditions proposed by Russia and impose them on Ukraine.
