Chinese President Xi Jinping and former US President Donald Trump may meet in China this spring.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the South China Morning Post, discussions about a summit between the leaders of the two countries are ongoing, and it is scheduled for April, although exact dates have not yet been determined.
Sources note that both sides would prefer the opponent to initiate the visit, viewing it as a diplomatic success. However, preliminary negotiations are focused on Trump's possible visit to China.
According to the publication, one version of the discussed schedule suggests the American politician's visit to China in April or May.
Earlier, Trump stated that he is ready to visit China in 2025 if he receives an appropriate invitation. During his first presidential term, he already visited China in 2017, almost a year after taking office.
