Man's family fulfilled his last wish by dropping thousands of dollars from a helicopter

In Detroit, thousands of dollar bills were dropped from a helicopter in memory of local entrepreneur and community activist Darrell Thomas, reports Mothership. According to his will, the man wanted to express gratitude to the city and his neighbors in this way.

As Thomas's niece Crystal Perry told the TV channel, this was a way to say "thank you" to everyone who was important to her uncle during his lifetime. Thomas's son, nicknamed "Smoke," helped organize the event, emphasizing that his father was a man known for his love of family and community.

"Detroit, you all may not know who my father was, but he was a great father. Within his community, he was a legend," he added.

Auto shop employee Lisa Knife said she watched the scene as money fell from the sky. According to her, the situation remained calm and even solemn.

"There were no fights, nothing like that. It was really beautiful," she noted.
