Kallas urged the US to withdraw from the war with Iran
EU diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas urged the United States at the Group of Seven foreign ministers' meeting to exit the war with Iran and more actively support the "war in Ukraine."
Kallas made this statement to journalists ahead of the meeting of the bloc's foreign ministers in the Parisian suburb of Vaux-de-Cernay.
"The two main topics on the table are two great wars, one in Ukraine and one in the Middle East," Kallas said.
Speaking about the war with Iran, she said: "We need to find a way out of this war, not to escalate it further, because the consequences for everyone in the world are very severe." She added that rising oil prices resulting from the war allegedly strengthen Russia while negatively affecting Ukraine's situation.
Pointing this out, Kallas urged the United States to "step up bilateral support as well as pressure on Russia."
