Israel has begun large-scale attacks in the Gaza Strip as part of Operation "Chariots of Gideon".

This is reported by "Channel 12" with reference to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

"Over the past day, we have begun widespread attacks and deployed forces to take control of territories in the Gaza Strip. This is part of the initial phase of Operation 'Chariots of Gideon' and the expansion of the campaign in Gaza," the statement said.

A message also appeared on the IDF Telegram channel, which stated that the army "has begun conducting large-scale strikes and mobilizing troops to achieve operational control in areas of the Gaza Strip."

On May 13, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the army would "with full force" begin completing the military operation in the Gaza Strip in the coming days, which would mean the defeat of the radical Hamas movement.

"Channel 12" reports that the IDF has transitioned from Operation "Courage and Sword" to "Chariots of Gideon," which will include expanding the ground operation with powerful support from air, land, and sea.
