Iran and the United States have reached understanding on some issues, but opinions diverged on two or three important topics.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Tasnim, this was stated by Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ismail Baghaei.

"Mutual understanding has been reached on a number of issues, but opinions diverged on 2-3 important matters, and ultimately the negotiations did not lead to an agreement.

In these negotiations, some new topics were added, such as the topic of the Strait of Hormuz, and each of them has its own complexity," he noted.

According to Baghaei, the negotiations "took place in an atmosphere of distrust and suspicion."

"Naturally, from the very beginning, one should not have expected that an agreement could be reached in a single session. No one expected that.

This round of negotiations was the longest this year and lasted a total of 24 or 25 hours," he emphasized.
