Iran claimed responsibility for a strike on a U.S. airbase in Jordan

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of Iran's armed forces) attacked the US air base Al-Azraq in Jordan.

This was reported by the Tasnim news agency.

"[IRGC forces] delivered a devastating simultaneous missile and drone strike on fighter shelters and the American air base in Al-Azraq, Jordan," the agency relayed from the military's statement.

As a result of the attack, two fighter jets and three aircraft were destroyed, and several other aircraft sustained serious damage, the IRGC noted.
