Iran is discussing with Oman the issue of creating a permanent toll system that would formalize control over maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
This was reported on Thursday by Bloomberg.
"Iran and Oman must mobilize all resources both for ensuring security and for the most effective management of shipping," Iran's ambassador to France, Mohammad Amin-Nejad, told the agency.
"This will entail costs, and it goes without saying that those who wish to benefit from this flow will also have to contribute their share," he added.
