iPhone may get a 200-megapixel camera

Apple has begun testing an ultra-powerful 200-megapixel camera sensor, which could completely transform the photographic capabilities of the iPhone in the near future. This information was published by GizmoChina, citing the well-known insider Digital Chat Station from the Weibo social network.

According to the obtained data, the Cupertino giant is actively testing a 200-megapixel sensor, which is planned to be installed in the main camera of one of the future iPhone models. According to the informant's predictions, this advanced sensor will first appear only in the iPhone 19, which is expected to be released in 2027.

The insider also reported significant changes in iPhone design that will occur over the next three years. In particular, it is assumed that the iPhone 18 will be equipped with a display with a reduced cutout for the Dynamic Island module.

Meanwhile, noticeable changes in the appearance of the iPhone will begin this year. According to numerous leaks, the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max models will receive a significantly redesigned camera block. Additionally, the lineup will be expanded with a completely new model – the iPhone 17 Air.
