In China, a company pays employees for weight loss and fines them for weight gain

Chinese camera and stabilizer manufacturer Insta360 launched an internal challenge called: "Lose kilograms - earn money". This was reported by City News Service.
Thus, for every 0.5 kg lost, employees receive 500 yuan (about 70 dollars), and for gaining the same weight - they pay a fine of 800 yuan (approximately 110 dollars).
The project quickly became popular on the social network Weibo and gained more than 6.5 million views.Despite the strict rule, so far no one has been fined. Meanwhile, 99 employees have already lost a total of 950 kg and together earned more than 1 million yuan (approximately 139 thousand dollars).
The company explains: the main goal is to motivate staff to lead a healthy lifestyle and have a positive attitude towards work.
Similar initiatives have already been conducted in China. In February, food supplement manufacturer Wonderlab organized a month-long weight loss competition. 224 employees together lost about 750 kg and earned 171 thousand yuan (approximately 23 thousand dollars). One participant lost 16.4 kg and received more than 7.5 thousand yuan (over 1 thousand dollars).
At the same time, experts advise approaching such promotions with caution. They remind that employers should protect employees' personal data and avoid situations that can cause additional stress, particularly due to fines for weight gain.Similar News
