# Hamas Leader Announced the End of Hostilities with Israel

The head of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip.

This was reported by the Al Jazeera television channel on October 9.

"Mediators have announced the reaching of an agreement to end the war in Gaza," he stated.

It is reported that the agreement includes a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, withdrawal of Israeli forces from the region, delivery of humanitarian aid, as well as a prisoner exchange. Al-Hayya noted that the lists of prisoners to be released have been handed over to Israel.

Earlier on the same day, Israeli government representative Shosh Bedrosyan reported that 24 hours after the Israeli government meeting, a 72-hour period for the release and return of hostages will begin. She emphasized that Israel is preparing to receive the hostages "in whatever condition they may be in." Also, a Hamas movement representative reported that more than 2,000 Palestinians, including 250 sentenced to life imprisonment, will be released from Israeli prisons in accordance with the deal to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
