FSB of Russian Federation revealed details of assassination attempt on General Alekseev
An accomplice in the assassination attempt on Deputy Chief of the GRU Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev - Viktor Vasin - is a supporter of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), which is banned in Russia.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the FSB press service in a comment to RIA Novosti.
The agency stated that the recruitment of the perpetrator of the assassination attempt involved his son, who is a citizen of Poland, with the assistance of Polish intelligence services. According to the FSB, the perpetrator underwent firearms training at a range in Kyiv.
According to the intelligence service, in August 2025 in Ternopil, the perpetrator was recruited by an SBU officer. After that, he was transferred to Russian territory via the route Kyiv - Chisinau - Tbilisi - Moscow.
It was also established that an accomplice to the assassination attempt rented an apartment in the same building where the crime was subsequently committed and gave the perpetrator an electronic key for access to the building.
The FSB reported that on the day of the assassination attempt, the perpetrator waited for the general to appear on the elevator landing and fired four shots. Additionally, according to the agency, the shooting suspect Lyubomir Korba conducted surveillance on high-ranking servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces, receiving monthly payment in cryptocurrency for this.
On February 8, FSB officers, with the assistance of UAE authorities, extradited Korba to Russia. Vasin was also detained in Moscow, while their female accomplice fled to Ukraine.
