Father drowned a child in a bucket of laundry detergent to teach his wife a lesson

In the USA, a man brutally killed his three-month-old son by drowning him in a bucket of laundry detergent. The man confessed to the crime almost a year after committing the murder. This was reported by Local12.
It all began on August 10, 2024. Medical staff at a hospital in Lafayette (Indiana) called the police when a woman with signs of domestic violence sought help. In conversation with law enforcement, the patient said that her 29-year-old husband had attacked her with a crowbar and a wrench and beaten her. However, at that moment, the woman was more concerned not about her health, but about the fact that her husband had taken their three-month-old son somewhere.
Police searched the man's house and did not find the child. The father denied any involvement in the baby's disappearance, and only took responsibility for the attack on his wife. The next day, authorities inspected the house again, and this time found an orange bucket in the kitchen. Inside it, in water with detergent, floated the dead child. An autopsy showed that the baby died from suffocation due to immersion in soapy water.
Tippecanoe County Deputy Prosecutor Alice Madigan said that later the man confessed to the crime and explained his motive.
"The accused wanted to teach his wife and all women a lesson. With this, he wanted to show that men cannot be disrespected," Madigan said.
She added that for the committed crime - the murder of an infant and attempted murder - the man was sentenced to 92 years in prison.
