Elman Pashaev's son is accused of apartment fraud in Moscow

In Moscow (Russia), eight individuals have been charged in a criminal case involving murder and large-scale fraud related to the theft of apartments. Among the suspects are entrepreneurs, heads of commercial companies, unemployed individuals, and a taxi driver. One of the accused is Elvin Pashayev, the son of former lawyer Elman Pashayev.

As reported by TASS, Elvin Pashayev has been charged with two counts of large-scale fraud. He does not admit his guilt.

The criminal case was separated from the investigation into the murder of a man whose remains were discovered in a park in northwestern Moscow in October 2024. They were wrapped in a black plastic bag.

The investigation established the involvement of eight individuals, including Anton Prokopovich, the CEO of a commercial company, individual entrepreneur Dmitry Vlasov, and self-employed Nazeli Khachatryan.

According to case materials, one of the suspects — taxi driver Bulat Abdullayev — admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. According to the investigation, he and an acquaintance were supposed to withdraw money from a bank account where the fraudsters had transferred funds after selling the murdered Muscovite's apartment.

As part of the case, an exhumation of the body and a number of expert examinations were conducted, including molecular genetic, forensic medical, and handwriting analyses.

All suspects have been charged with committing serious acquisitive crimes as part of a group. Moscow's Tushinsky Court extended their pretrial restrictions. One of the accused is under house arrest, while the rest are in a pretrial detention facility.

It was previously reported that former lawyer E. Pashayev is accused of large-scale fraud. According to the investigation, he received more than 46 million rubles after promising a businessman to have him and his wife cleared of criminal liability in a tax evasion case.
