Donkey from "Shrek" will get his own movie about family life

American actor Eddie Murphy, who voices Donkey in the "Shrek" animated franchise, revealed that his character will get his own movie about family life. This was reported by ScreenRant.
According to Murphy, he will begin voice work on the new animated film in September, but the movie itself won't be released for another three years.
"Donkey will have his own film, his own little story about his dragon wife and his children, who are half-dragon, half-donkey. It's a very funny story," he noted.
"Shrek 5" will be released in 2026, with work on it already ongoing for about two years. The release of the animated film is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of DreamWorks Animation. Media reported that Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz will return to their roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona. The directors will be "Shrek" franchise veterans Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon.
