Tehran made Washington a "substantial offer" regarding the cessation of the conflict, but the US does not consider it sufficient.

As reported by TASS, this was stated by US President Donald Trump while speaking with journalists at the White House.

"They made an offer, and it's a substantial offer. It's a substantial step. It's not good enough, but it's a substantial step," he said.

At the same time, the head of the Washington administration emphasized that the timeline for the completion of the US-Israeli military operation against Iran depends on the decisions of the authorities in Tehran.

"It can end very quickly, the war. If they (Iranian officials) do what they have to do. They have to do certain things," Trump noted.

He also answered affirmatively when asked whether his ultimatum to Iran was final. Earlier on Truth Social, the American leader threatened strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure if Iran did not create conditions for the resumption of large-scale shipping in the Strait of Hormuz by April 6. The American leader then extended the deadline for concluding a possible deal with Iran by 24 hours (until 04:00 Baku time on April 8).
