Daughter of Iranian official Larijani fired from American university
Private Emory University in Georgia, USA, has confirmed the suspension of Fatima Ardeshir Larijani, daughter of Iran's National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Telegram channel "Free Iran," she was expelled from the educational institution due to increased political pressure and protests from the public and American officials.
The Winship Cancer Institute at the university also stated that "the doctor, who is the daughter of a high-ranking Iranian government official, is no longer an employee of the university," but refused to provide additional information as it is a personnel matter. Information about Ardeshir Larijani, who was previously listed as an associate professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology, has been removed from the university's website.
The educational institution did not specify whether her dismissal is related to the US sanctions imposed against Ardeshir's father last week.
