Apple gifted Donald Trump an American piece of glass

A press conference was held at the White House with US President Donald Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook, where a major expansion of the company's production capacity in the country was announced. There, Cook also presented a glass plaque manufactured in Kentucky, reports 9to5Mac.

During the press conference, Apple announced plans to invest an additional $100 billion in developing production in the United States. These are additional investments to the $500 billion that Apple intends to invest over four years.

Previously, Trump threatened to impose 25 percent tariffs on Apple products manufactured outside the US if the company did not increase localization of production.

During the event, Tim Cook presented Donald Trump with a symbolic gift - a glass plaque manufactured by Corning, mounted on a 24-karat gold stand. The item is engraved with the Apple logo, the company head's signature, and the inscription: "Made in USA, 2025".

"For the first time: every new iPhone, absolutely every new Apple Watch, sold anywhere in the world, will contain glass covering made in Kentucky," Cook stated.
