Abnormal heat in the US has led to the deaths of 25 people

Extremely high temperatures sweeping across several American states have caused the deaths of at least 25 people.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to NBC, the most severe situation has developed in the state of New Jersey, where authorities confirmed the deaths of 22 people linked to the effects of extreme heat. One more fatality was recorded in Illinois, while the death toll in Mississippi reached two.

According to U.S. authorities, many victims were found in residential homes not equipped with air conditioning systems. Some people died outdoors or were found in parked vehicles where temperatures reached dangerous levels.

Meteorologists and emergency services continue to warn the public about the risks associated with the ongoing hot weather, urging people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, consume adequate amounts of water, and stay in cooled spaces whenever possible.

The abnormal heat also disrupted the celebration of U.S. Independence Day in Washington. During mass events on the National Mall, several participants required medical attention due to heat-related illness.
