A powerful earthquake occurred in one country

A powerful earthquake occurred in the southern Philippines. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The underground tremors were recorded on Friday, October 17, at 07:03 local time (03:03 Baku time). Their magnitude reached 6.1 - which seismologists consider a strong earthquake.

The epicenter of the phenomenon was six kilometers from the municipality of Dapa in the province of Surigao del Norte. The focus was at a depth of 69 kilometers. Nothing is known about casualties or destruction. No tsunami threat was declared in the country.
