The world will be presented with a drug that erases signs of aging and extends life

A group of scientists has developed a drug capable of extending life by approximately 25%. And this is not science fiction - the results of the first trials are already impressive.

Successful experiments on rodents

During experiments with rats, the drug showed remarkable results. Just 25 weeks after the start of therapy, the animals experienced improved vision, increased muscle strength, and disappearance of gray hair. But most importantly - their lifespan increased from 120 to 155 weeks. In human equivalent, this is as if a 55-year-old person lived to 70 years while maintaining health and activity.

"The test animals showed virtually no signs of senile weakness, remaining energetic and strong. Additionally, we recorded a decrease in the level of oncological diseases," the researchers report.

The key to longevity - interleukin-11

At the center of the discovery is the protein interleukin-11, an ancient gene inherited by humanity from fish more than 450 million years ago. As it turns out, this protein triggers aging processes: it causes chronic inflammation, tissue fibrosis, muscle weakening, and metabolic disorders.

By blocking its activity, scientists managed to "turn off" one of the key mechanisms of aging. The treated animals looked younger and demonstrated improved physical and mental abilities.

Hope for humans

Currently, the drug is undergoing clinical trials in humans. The first results inspire optimism - the treatment is safe and does not cause serious side effects.

Although widespread use is still far off, scientists are confident: humanity is on the threshold of a new era in which age will no longer be a determining factor in quality of life.
