TESLA's Autopilot Accused of Mass Traffic Violations - USA Initiates Large-Scale Investigation

American authorities have begun an unprecedented investigation into Tesla, prompted by a series of reports about serious traffic violations by electric vehicles equipped with the company's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. Among the most alarming incidents are driving in the oncoming lane and ignoring traffic signals, which calls into question the safety and reliability of the company's advanced technologies.
As reported by BAKU.WS citing an official statement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the USA, the regulator is aware of 58 incidents in which Tesla vehicles with the FSD system committed such violations. Approximately 2.9 million electric vehicles equipped with this technology will be under close scrutiny by the investigation. This figure underscores the scale of potential risks and the seriousness of claims from the federal government.
The investigation is designed to determine to what extent the FSD system complies with existing safety standards and whether it poses a threat to road users. It is noted that Tesla, whose head Elon Musk recently became the world's first "half-trillionaire," has not yet provided comments upon request regarding this investigation. This situation raises serious questions for one of the leaders in the electric vehicle market and casts doubt on the prospects for widespread adoption of unmanned technologies without additional tightening of control and regulation.
