Musk named the number of people necessary for Mars colonization
American entrepreneur and head of SpaceX Elon Musk stated that successful colonization of Mars requires at least 100 thousand volunteers from Earth.
As reported by BAKU.WS, he announced this on the social network X.
"I am confident that Starship will land people on Mars," Musk wrote.
Musk responded to a comment by ArsTechnica editor Eric Berger, who said he wasn't sure about the success of the Starship. However, Berger noted that Starship is the only vehicle that can send people far beyond our planet. In response, Musk said that he has a "general idea" about colonizing other planets and he has no doubts about Starship's success.
The entrepreneur stated that to achieve results, it's not enough to just send people to Mars once, but to create conditions for life on Mars. Elon Musk is convinced that for this purpose, at least one hundred thousand volunteers need to be sent to Mars who can establish a colony. Additionally, at least 1 million tons of cargo necessary for building the colony will need to be sent from Earth.
